As an integral part of the Admitting team, you will register non-scheduled patients, activate pre-registered patients, and accurately collect and record crucial information to complete the access process.

As an admitting clerk, you will be responsible for:
Appropriately and accurately collecting and entering required information for all access patients.
Fully knowledgeable of, and conducts all activities in accordance with Regulatory Compliance, including but not limited to such issues as Medicare Secondary Payer Screening, EMTALA, 3-Day DRG Bundling, Medical Necessity; and internal Code of Conduct requirements.
Fully knowledgeable of, and conducts all activities in accordance with confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
Functioning as a relief communications operator.
Understands all alarms and codes.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Previous customer service experience
Must be proficient in computer use.
Good interpersonal skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Well organized, detail oriented.
Preferred Qualifications
Clerical experience and prior knowledge of health insurance processing
Post-secondary education:
AA or AS with medical terminology education
AAHAM CPAT/CCAT and/or NAHAM certificationKeywords:
